ABOUT
Thunderbolt is an engineering firm built by engineers. Collectively we have pioneered many aspects of open architecture product and system designs and product line engineering for large scale DoD systems including the US Navy Aegis Combat System.
We are proficient in managing all aspects of the product lifecycle including development, system integration, test, product verification and qualification, and delivery and sustainment. Our team members have held lead roles in developing some of the most complex C4ISR systems in the DoD including the Aegis Weapon System, DD1000, Deepwater and F-35 and have extensive experience managing FMS programs.

Over the course of his career he has developed extensive multi-discipline experience across software, hardware, program management and planning, sensors, command and control systems, weapon systems and communication systems across both surface and airborne platforms. Andrew holds a BS and MS in Physics.
Rich Scharadin
Senior program manager with 30 plus years of experience managing and leading complex large scale Aegis Weapon System developments, open architecture product and system designs, agile based software development, product line engineering, system integration, test and delivery. Led and managed major Lockheed Martin business transformation from individual program developments to product line engineering, software and test operations, involving the alignment of fifteen unique programs, re-shaping internal and external customer cultures, cross program cost share modeling and PLE cross program governance. Scopes included managing and over-seeing six common product lines, eight million source lines of code and over 1000 systems and software engineers. Authored several papers on the transformation and was nationally published in Crosstalk Magazine in 2014.
Eric Avis
System engineer with experience working the Aegis Combat System and Ballistic Missile Defense System, the MARCOM naval communications suite, cryptography, hypersonic missile modeling and development of the new “KITE 2” naval communication device – a VOIP enabled upgrade of the original keyswitch integrated terminal equipment. Graduated with a BS in Management Information Systems from Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY in 2003. Earned MBA with a concentration in Entrepreneurship and New Venture Management from Clarkson University in 2004.
Doug Lorenson

PRODUCTS
RuleSentry™ Configurable Decision Support – RuleSentry™ allows users to build system rules to automate tasks and evaluate data, increasing situational awareness and accelerating critical decision making. These rules can help control sensors and devices, evaluate databases, and monitor object positions and physical perimeters. Building from simple rule-action blocks, the RuleSentry™ framework allows the user to define highly complex system automation and behaviors. By integrating data across multiple devices, customer-defined RuleSentry™ rule sets provide the intelligence to differentiate nuisance data from meaningful alerts. Users can also automate repeatable tasks, trigger contingency plans, or save energy by managing device power.
